Delna justifies its work on the following grounds:
• Corruption hinders the country’s development, being one of the prime causes of inequality among the Latvian population and a threat to Latvia’s security:
• Corruption multiplies social injustice and undermines opportunities for social equality in society for every member of society;
• Corruption broadens the divide between citizens and politics, and increases the lack of trust in Latvia’s democratic processes;
• Corruption is a justifiable reason for the public’s lack of faith in the judicial system, government and municipal bodies, and the principle of the rule of law;
• Corruption repels investment, creates unfair competition and allows dishonest and opaque business to thrive;
• Corruption erodes moral values in society, politics and business;
• Corruption threatens the rights of future generations to live in a clean, secure and prosperous society.
